ABOUT TOADALLY LEATHER IMPORTS Vinzent Cooper first read, in a Smithsonian Magazine (Oct. issue 1990), an article about the Cane Toad. Immediately he contacted a few associates in Australia requesting toad legs to be tanned for key rings, similar to the rabbit foot key ring. By 1994, Vinzent contacted an Australian taxidermist who adopted his concept and placed it into reality. In 1996, in its earliest stages, the taxidermist had to perfect the tanning process, then search for a manufacturer of his products. In January of 2007, Vinzent rekindled his Australian connection and is now exclusively offering and distributing toad products across America. He has created a catalog of products available for viewing and ordering on this website. Toadally Leather has acquired all permits and licensing required to pursue sales in the U.S. for Toadally Leather Imports LLC.
| Company history and a little more about the Cane Toad T.L.I. is based out of Sugarcreek, MO. and owned by Vinzent Cooper. Cooper has spent years researching the Cane Toad, implementing the leather use and sales of such products. There have been countless areas of marketing various products. Any and all products made of toad leather can be reproduced for the enjoyment and education of all... Especially the educational aspect... Toads can live 30-35 years, growing up to 2-4 pounds. The defense mechanism of the toad is a poison located in two parotid glands behind the eyes of the toad. If the poison gets into the eye(s) it can cause temporary painful blindness for 72-96 hours. Toads can change their sex. Adult toads are carnivorous. The female can spawn two times a year, releasing approximately 20,000 tadpoles within three days of amplexus (an act of reproduction). A group of toads is called a "knot". The front feet are called "claspers". And you dare not tell a toad they have warts. Scientists and toads prefer to call them "Q marks". There is much more to be learned from these critters that are wreaking havoc.
| Customer testimonials One elderly woman in Australia purchased a toad body coin purse in 1997. She informed us that the coin purse, used daily, has softened with her body oils from handling it and has since purchased many gifts to pass on to her friends. Vinzent has a pair of cowboy styled boots worn for 12 years. With proper maintenance and wear (not including rock climbing for instance), polishing etc. they look as great as the day they were made for him.
